About Us

The Clayton Valley Garden Club organized in 1997 after tour guests of the Clayton Historical Society Gardens Tour expressed an interest in forming a club to meet others who enjoyed gardening as a hobby.

Monthly Meetings, Open to the Public

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Diamond Terrace, in Clayton (address and directions to the right).

Each meeting features a lecture by an authority in some phase of gardening or a related subject. Recent topics have included: gardening tools, plant propagation, and California native plants.

Designing a Dish Garden with Succulents

Ann will be talking about creating succulent dish gardens that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional (i.e. selecting plants that have similar growing requirements.) Her talk will cover types of containers, accent items, such as rocks, driftwood, shells, etc. She will also discuss soil types, care & watering, and pest control.
